There was a twin bomb explosion in the University of Maiduguri this morning leaving scores dead near gate 4 and gate 5 of the institution. Sources said that the explosion occured at the early hours of today at about 5:40am when Ummah muslims were observing their morning prayers.
According to our informant, ” there was twin suicide bomb explosion in a mosques located around professor’s quatres, north of University of maiduguri which killed two professor, staff and students”.
From an interview conducted, a resident around the visinity mallam Umar Ibrahim said that the suicide bombers who were both females came through gate 4 and gate 5 and detonated the bomb simultanouesly at about 5:15am & 5:40am hiting two mosque, leaving scores dead on monday.
Mallam Ahmed Mohammed, the public relation officer of the school also confirmed the attack but did not specify whether there was casualties or not. Later on, the police came around the scene to keep calm.
