was a great day to be remembered. States governor appreciated and
recommended the effort of the fallen heroes during the Nigeria civil war
and the war against insurgency. Each of the State governor spoke about
the fallen heroes during the 2017 Armed Forces Day in their respective
states”
The Governor of River State, Wike Nyesom did introduced a 100 million
empowerment scheme which is targetted at strengthing the living
condition of the families of late legends who lost their lives serving
this great country.In the open court of the Government House while addressing the living legionnaires at the 2017 Armed Forces Day, Governor Wike Nyesom said that the empowerment scheme initiated came into existence because of the contribution each of the Fallen Heros made while in service.
Governor Rochas Okorocha, in imo State, said that he is glad to see Nigeria celebrate her Fallen Heroes who died while fighting for this nation, furthermore, describing the action of the dead gallant Soldiers as show of patriotism at the highest level.
In the same vein, Governor of Akwa-Ibom, Udom Emmanuel congratulated the soldiers for the victory in the North-East over boko-haram insurgency.
In Asaba, the ceremony was witnessed by the former Deputy governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue, Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, political office holders, clergymen, traditional leaders and so on. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led well-known deltans in laying wreaths at the foot of unknown soldiers.
